Announced the death of former player and ex-president of [[Floriana]], Freddie Cauchi, known as The Sir, at the age of 75 years.

Freddie Cauchi was born in Floriana own and was no surprise that at an early age began playing football where the team joined with the Minors when he was 17 years.

He made his debut in the highest division, on 9 October, 1960, in the defeat of 2-1 against [[Hibernians FC]], where he himself who scored the goal of Floriana. In the position of midfielder, Freddie had a memorable season when they missed only one game to 13 game played at their maximum, with a record of six wins, five losses and two equalizer.

In the League, during that season, he scored five goals, with four other are against [[St. Patrick]] (3-0), [[Marsa]] (2-1) and doublet against [[Sliema Wanderers]] (3-1).

With Floriana he won the [[FA Trophy]], the [[Cassar Cup]] and the [[Scicluna Cup]] (at the beginning of the season 1961/62).
