L-istedina kienet waslet qrib il-festa ta’ San Lawrenz u kien hemm diversi diffikultajiet li riedu jintgħelbu. Fost dawn kien hemm dik li ma kienx hemm żmien biżżejjed ħlief għal erba’ kunċerti, għax l-istedina kienet għall-aħħar ġimgħa t’ Awissu. Din kienet importanti għax minn hemm riedu jiġu parti mill-ispejjeż. Iżda għal dan kienu daħlu żewġ ammiraturi tal-Banda, li għamlu tajjeb biex il-vapur tal-passiġġieri seta’ jinkera kmieni. Ma’ sbieħ is-Sibt 22 ta’ Awissu, id-Duke of Edinburgh, imsieħba minn numru t’ ammiraturi, kienet fi triqitha lejn Catania.

Kif il-vapur ittrakka mal-art, id-Duke of Edinburgh sellmet lill-folla bl-Innu Nazzjonali Taljan. ġest li ntlaqa’ b’applawsi kbar. Wara, il-Maltin u l-Isqallin tħalltu flimkien wara l-Banda li, fi triqitha lejn il-Palazz tal-Muniċipju, allegrathom b’marċi brijużi. Mal-wasla fil-Muniċipju, intlaqgħu mill-Awtoritajiet ta’ Catania u ngħataw merħba permezz ta’ riċeviment.

L-interpretazzjoni tas-Serenata The Warbles ta’ Hume kienet intgħoġbot ferm mill-Kataniżi u ġiet deskritta bħala impekkabbli. Dan kien aktarx dovut għall-fatt li, f’parti minnha xi wħud mill-bandisti kienu jwarrbu l-istrumenti tagħhom u minflok jibdew isaffru. Hu magħruf li, għall-mod stupend li bih kienu jsaffru, dan il-passaġġ kien ikun mistenni ħafna. Kif din intemmet, il-folla preżenti nfexxet iċċapċap bla waqfien, kontinwament jitolbu l-bis. Minkejja li kien sar il-ħin, is-surmast Grech ikkuntentahom u din id-darba, mal-applawżi żdied il-ħruq ta’ suffarelli u l-mixegħla ta’ gassijiet kuluriti.
