The next year this was repeated in another children’s programme ''Ħaj!'', this time teaming with producer [[Carmel Serracino]], with Jonathan interpreting different Biblical characters being ‘interviewed’ in the studio. From 2002 till 2006 Jonathan and his now wife Antoinette continued producing and presenting weekly educational programmes, now aimed for adolescents on Education 22, the last, incidentally, being like the first, another religious programme ''Mixegħla''.

During this time Jonathan started acting in local teleserials, starting with W''enzu u Rożi'' in 2002, then in the role of ''Pawlu'' in ''Is-Salib tal-Fidda'' (2002-03), the murdered brother in ''Delitti f’Malta'' (2003) and the bishop’s priest in ''It-tfal Jiġu Bil-Vapuri'' (2005-2007).

In 2005 Jonathan debuted at the cinemas as the scientist in the highly successful ''Anġli the Movie''. Jon then played other roles in In –Numru 9 and Il-Mera before returning to the cinemas as a prison official in ''Santa Monika'' in 2009.

Between 2010 and 2012 Jonathan played two other ''priestly'' roles in ''Riħ Isfel'' and ''F’Salib it-Toroq''. In 2013-14 Jon was ‘Mike’ in the hugely popular Iċ-Ċaqqufa.

Jonathan also featured as an actor in numerous adverts (such as Air Malta, Melita, Chef Choice)and promotional spots on tv such as three government initiatives (the launch of e-government, a new sexual harassment law, and a new law defending the right of the victim to be present in court hearings), the Sedqa advert promoting help for employees drug addicts and the recent spot during the bicycle marathon promoting the use of defribilators in schools, among others.

Speaking of schools, during his sixteen years of teaching, Jon taught drama for a few years and directed numerous plays involving his students, the last being [[Jesus Christ Superstar]] in 2014 at Giovanni Curmi Higher Secondary School.
