The song’s accompanying and rather manic music video was featured on MetalSucks, MetalUnderGround, The Monolith, No Clean Singing, MetalInjection and many other prominent metal sites, clocking up over 11,000 views in less than 6 weeks. By the band’s own admission this EP, their first to feature ‘new’ drummer Max, is their heaviest and most technical release yet which, going by their output to date, is no mean feat. After releasing debut album [[Despondent by Design]] in 2009, local metal act [[Loathe]] went through several changes, eventually re-surfacing with its current line-up last year ahead of a new release that been eagerly anticipated by the band’s legion of fans at home and abroad. Lambs to the slaughter is the band’s latest offering; a 5-track EP brimming with guttural vocals and pummelling riffage that truly lives up to the band’s self-proclaimed ‘crushing metal music’ tag. Beyond the music’s heavy slant however, there also lies a melodic edge, at times subdued and lingering under the metal melee, occasionally surfacing to leave its mark on the both the song and the listener.
