<p>Include Page: The Minks</p> <p><b>New page</b></p><div>{{cleanup}}<br /> {{stub}}<br /> &#039;&#039;&#039;The Minks&#039;&#039;&#039; beatgroup were formed in March 1966.<br /> <br /> The first members where: <br /> * [[Joe Cachia]] (Guitar)<br /> * [[Francis Vella]] (Guitar<br /> * [[Joe Muscat]] (Bass &amp; Vocals)<br /> * [[Joe Cini]] {Drums). <br /> <br /> A few months later [[Anthony A. Cachia]] joined The Minks as Lead Vocalist in February 1967. During 1968 – [[Joe Borg]] replaced drummer Joe Cini who had emigrated to Australia whilste [[Jimmy Calleja]] was included as leading vocalist in band and Anthony A. Cachia replaced brother Joe on guitar. <br /> <br /> The Minks used to perform in most dances and weddings held in various clubs and venues all over the island and were one of the favourite residential groups with the [[British Forces]], playing at their activities at the [[Vernon Club]] in [[Valletta]].<br /> <br /> After Francis Vella and Jimmy Calleja had left the band in 1970, [[Denis Borg] – lead guitarist and keyboards - joined the band.<br /> On the 1t December 1971, The Minks released their first successful 45 single – &#039;&#039;Xortija&#039;&#039; / &#039;&#039;Thank You&#039;&#039; – both compositions written by Anthony A. Cachia.
