The 14th edition of the Festival was organized by the Youth Travel Circle (YTC), under the guidance of Fr Maurice Mifsud, by the name of Festival YTC. Sixteen songs took part in the final night held on 24 May 1986, which for this edition was moved to St Augustine Hall in Valletta.
The Stage was designed by Jack DeDomenico, while Tessie Galea made the flower arrangements. Victor Bonello was in charge of sound and audio while Tonio Valletta was responsible for lighting.
The show was compered by Tanya Debono and Joe Farrugia.
