Mro. Joe Brown born in Vittoriosa on 23 October 1959. He is Composer and Arranger.

At the age of 7 he moved to Cospicua with hisi family.He had to study music under the guidance Bettie Eastwwod and sat for exams of the Trinity College of Music and of The Royal School of Music.

He was a member of the band B.F.M Starlights know for their song Stella.

He went to England and between 1982 and 1984 he was musical director with Vipond’s Agency of Middlesborough.

He held the same post for the Festival Song For Europe between 1995 and 1997, for the Festival tal-Kanzunetta Maltija of 1995 and 1996, and for the six editions of the Festival Fl-Għaqda il-Melodija which took place between 1996 and 2003. Joe spend many years to as musical director with the Tumas Group of Company.

He has written the music for several songs, amongst them New Born Heart which was among the Finalists in the Song For Europe Festival 1998 sung by Lawrence Gray.

He also composed the Music for ballets – namely The Alien Princess, Giants Of Xlendi Bay, Ghosts of Medina and Mermaids from The Blue Lagoon.

He also composed the Musical Diana – Queen of Hearts (1999). Ġorġi Fjur tal-Martri with lyrics by Brian Bonnici and made music arrangement for the musical of St Philip Ir-Rebbiegħ

Organised several concerts, always being responble for the musical arrangement of the music peformed and also went three times to Australia in order to produce there concerts by the Maltese singer Renato Micallef.

Also wrote the signature tunes for several television series, amongst them one could name Enigma, Ipokriti, Dun Benit, Il-Madonna taċ-Ċoqqa, Ġideb u Mħabba, Il-Prinċipal, and Bawxati.

Joe Brown also has a recording studios which he set up in 1995 and for years he was the music director resident of One Television programe Kalamita.

Together with Fabian Scerri Decarlo and Frederick Camilleri held two concerts named Maltin Orġinali with a great success. He got two daughter Abigail Brown which plays piano with his band and Amy today knows as Amy Turner Brown remember her for some songs with the late Joe James Farrugia.
