Trivia
Before 2001 husband and wife team Georgina and Paul Abela had been involved in Malta's Eurovision entry in 1991, 1992 and 1996.
Fabrizio would go on to represent Malta once again in 2006.
This year all but four songs were sung either entirely or partly in English.
After an outstanding run throughout most of the 1990s, Ireland only managed to obtain 6 points this year.
