Salvu Galea tal-Kalora
was the son of noted folksinger Ninu Galea l-Kalora. Salvu, born in Naxxar on 4th November 1944, emigrated to Australia in the 1970s. He featured in singing sessions with Joe Vella Il-Bokser, Ġanni Zammit Is-Sigar and Loretu Vella tas-Siċċu.
He has written a number of ballads, including Id-Destin Krudil, where he was accompanied on guitars by Lippu Gauci tal-Imqabba, and brothers Frans Camilleri ta' Sponoż and Tony Camilleri ta' Sponoż, originally from Żabbar.
In his last folk singing bout in Malta, held at Ix-Xufi Bar in Mosta, he was accompanied by his own father Ninu, Fredu Abela l-Bamboċċu, Fredu Abela ż-Żejtuni.
He passed away in Melbourne on the 3rd of October 2008. His brother Jesmond Galea Tal-Kalora is still active in improvised verse singing.
